The ingredients will be heated until they reach a candy-like consistency. After cooling, it is applied directly to the skin. It is much more natural and environmentally friendly than wax, making it an attractive hair removal method.

There is a key difference between sugaring and waxing: the direction in which the hair is pulled. Waxing is a method of applying a mixture in the same direction as hair growth and removing it in the opposite direction. It’s the opposite with the sugar waxing method. Using quick, small yanks, the cooled sugar paste is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed in that direction. It may make a big difference in whether or not there is hair breakage based on the difference in application. Hair follicles are easily broken in half during waxing because the hair is pulled out against the growth directions.

Additionally, sugaring paste does not adhere to the skin, so it only removes hair. On the other hand, waxing adheres to the skin and can cause more irritation.

How long will the results last?

Results will depend on how fast your hair normally grows back. Sugaring lasts around 3 weeks after your initial appointment.

Will Sugar Waxing leave my skin red like traditional waxing?

The sugar paste adheres only to dead skin cells and hair. Sugaring will not remove live skin like traditional waxing, so you should have no redness after treatment.

What should I do before my Sugar Waxing session?

Sugar paste can be used on any skin type, even very sensitive skin. As sugar only adheres to hair and not living skin cells, only dead skin cells will be removed, resulting in gentle exfoliation. As a result, we ask you not to exfoliate the area to be sugared for one to two days prior to your appointment. Additionally, you should avoid using creams or lotions on the day of your appointment.
Sugared areas should be exfoliated and moisturized between appointments, though please do not exfoliate 24-48 hours before your appointment.
Take Tylenol or Motrin 30 minutes prior to your appointment if you are concerned about discomfort.

What should I do after my Sugar Waxing session?

Avoid these things for 12-24 hours after your appointment:

Perfumed products
Scented creams and lotions
Deodorant if you had your underarms sugared
Heat, such as baths or steam rooms
Direct sunlight or tanning beds
Take the day off from working out!
