TRUTH IPL Treatments Lakewood, CO
(IPL) Intense pulsed light, also referred to as broadband light, is used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, acne, and photodamage. The IPL device emits broad-spectrum pulses of light that are unique to addressing the problematic areas of tissue. During photothermolysis, light energy causes destruction or photothermolysis of the targeted tissue, leaving surrounding tissue alone. The IPL procedure is quick and painless with minimal recovery time. Among the areas that IPL might be used to treat are your face, hands, neck, and chest.
IPL treatments offer the following benefits:
- Reduces or removes broken facial capillaries
- Helps to reduce acne

FAQs
What Is an IPL treatment?
Intense pulsed light therapy (IPL) is a cosmetic procedure for improving the skin’s texture.
How do IPL treatments work?
A variety of wavelengths are used in IPL therapy to treat pigmentation and vein changes in the skin. Light waves will pass through the top layer of the skin (epidermis) to the targeted lesion, whether pigmented or vascular.
Which candidates are best suited for IPL treatments?
IPL is most effective on skin that is white and untanned. Those with sun-damaged, blotchy, or discolored skin would be a good candidate for this type of treatment. People suffering from rosacea can also benefit greatly from this treatment.
How soon should I expect results after getting IPL Treatment?
The treatment results may be seen after the first session, but it will still take 2-4 sessions for the desired results to be achieved.
How long should I expect IPL results to last?
Typically, results of an IPL treatment will be apparent for six months, up to a year. We usually recommend maintenance treatments every six to 12 months to help prolong results.
Will I have any recovery or downtime After IPL Treatment?
After treatment, your skin may appear sunburned because of mild scabbing. If this happens, it will not affect your daily activities. You should be able to resume your daily activities after the treatment. After the treatment, you can apply and remove light makeup, but make sure to do so gently to avoid irritating your skin.
